Size-effect in Very High Cycle Fatigue: A review

چکیده

• Size-effect strongly affects the VHCF of materials. A general rule for size-effect in could not be found this research. depends on material, manufacturing process and material cleanliness. The ODA/FGA size must taken into account when components are designed. Tests specimens with large risk-volumes recommended. It is well-known that fatigue failures originate from defects present within risk-volume. Moreover, experimental results have shown larger specimen risk-volume, shorter life. This known as generally due to statistical increment defect volume. In paper, critically revised. obtained by testing different sizes analyzed methodologies proposed model discussed, aim guiding future research VHCF.
